Victim Witness Coordinator

Scotts Bluff County Attorney Office is hiring a Victim Witness Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This is responsible legal service work supporting and assisting victims of domestic violence. Work involves responsibility for supporting, advising and assisting domestic abuse victims and their families during legal and court proceedings. Work also involves assisting victims in their efforts to gain restitution; interviewing and preparing victims for court testimony; and providing case information and assisting prosecuting attorneys. Work requires the application of technical knowledge and personal judgment in specific legal areas. General supervision is provided by attorneys, but considerable latitude for exercising independent judgment is permitted. Work is reviewed by an administrative superior in the form of reports, personal conferences and in the accuracy and thoroughness of victim interview information obtained.

Requirements: Considerable knowledge of legal terminology and legal documents.

Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent supplemented by completion of an associate degree program in human services or paralegal studies and experience assisting legal counsel or conducting client interviews

Must be able to pass criminal background check. Position is available for Veteran’s Preference. Scotts Bluff County is an EEO/AA employer.
