Scotts Bluff County Bridge and Sign Crew

This position is responsible for the construction, inspection, repair, and maintenance of bridges, culverts, traffic signs, and roadway infrastructure throughout Scotts Bluff County. Duties include coordinating projects and work crews, inspecting infrastructure, ordering materials, maintaining inventories and records, ensuring compliance with safety and construction standards, and responding to emergency road hazards.
The employee operates heavy equipment, including motor graders, trucks, backhoes, and loaders, while performing road and bridge maintenance, snow removal, grading, concrete work, sign installation, welding, and equipment maintenance. The position requires independent judgment, knowledge of construction and safety practices, the ability to interpret plans and specifications, and effective communication and recordkeeping skills.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and requires physical labor, including frequent lifting up to 80 pounds. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, considerable bridge construction and repair experience, preferably with supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid Nebraska Class B CDL is required.
Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug test. Position is available for Veteran’s Preference. Scotts Bluff County is an EEO/AA employer.
