Passports
Passports applications are accepted in the Office of Clerk of the District Court. Appointments are not required but a phone call is suggested over the lunch hour.
For First Time Application – Applicants will need:
- DS-11 application form (available in the office or on the U S Department of State website) – https://travel.state.gov/content/travel.html
- Certified state issued birth certificate (or naturalization papers)
- One passport photo (photography services not available in the office)
- Available locally at Walgreens, Staples and Wal-Mart
- Driver’s license or picture id
- Payment may be made by personal check or money order. Separate payments are needed for the passport fee and for the execution fee. Credit cards are not accepted.
- DS-11s are executed before an acceptance agent at an acceptance facility (Locations: Scottsbluff Post Office and Scotts Bluff County Clerk of the District Court)
Online Passport Renewal (OPR):
- Online Passport Renewal (OPR) is now available to the American public. Applicants who meet the requirements can now renew their passports online at their convenience and from the comfort of their own home. Applicants can see a full list of requirements at travel.state.gov/renewonline.
- Passport renewals in many instances can be done by the applicant using form DS-82 available on – https://travel.state.gov/content/travel.html
It’s still important for applicants to plan and apply for their passport well in advance of travel for both OPR and regular mail-in passport renewal service.
