Zero-Tolerance Policy
Scotts Bluff County Detention Center (SBCDC) declares a Zero-Tolerance policy towards all forms of sexual abuse and sexual harassment in the facility. SBCDC has policies set for all staff to follow in accordance to the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), SBCDC Administration mandates to all staff, detainees, contractors, volunteers and visitors; we will not tolerate sexual abuse, misconduct or inappropriate staff/detainee relationships. Incidents of sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment may be reported by calling the PREA Hotline at (308) 633-1865.
PREA Investigations:
Agencies that conduct their own investigations into sexual abuse or harassment must do so promptly, thoroughly, and objectively. Investigators must have completed the specialized training in investigating sexual abuse in a confinement setting. In accordance to the standards, administrative investigations will be conducted by the SBCDC PREA Coordinator and/or the PREA Investigator, referrals for criminal prosecution will be forwarded by the PREA Coordinator to the Scotts Bluff Sheriff’s office as required.
