Don’t let “The Grandparent Scam” happen to you!

Crooks are victimizing older people by calling and claiming to be a grandchild, a police officer, attorney, nurse etc. They often tell the person that there are dire consequences if they notify anyone about the call. They ask the person to send cash, wire money, or to purchase some sort of a pre-paid card to help their “grandchild.” They say that their grandchild has been arrested, or been in a wreck, or some other story. View the links below for further information on this scam. If you receive a call like this, report it to your local law enforcement agency, and to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
