Public Transit Dispatcher

Tri-City Roadrunner is hiring a full time dispatcher. This position is responsible for coordinating and dispatching standard and wheelchair-accessible transportation services. Duties include taking reservations, operating scheduling and dispatch software, communicating with drivers via two-way radio, and coordinating daily transportation schedules, driver breaks, vehicle maintenance, and last-minute route changes.

Additional responsibilities: Maintain accurate client, trip, vehicle, mileage, fare, and driver records. Verify and correct daily trip data, reconcile passenger fares, prepare reports, and compile information required for State and Federal reporting. Enter and maintain data using Excel and other designated software, including accessing Medicaid/Medicare portals to verify passenger and appointment information. Coordinate daily and weekly driver schedules, assign replacement drivers, communicate schedule changes and cancellations, and assist the Transit Manager with assigned duties. Provide general clerical and customer service support while maintaining effective relationships with clients, service providers, employees, and the public.

Requirements: Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license, graduation from senior high school or equivalent. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. EOE/AA. Veterans Preference applies.
