Scotts Bluff County Public Defender’s office is currently accepting applications for Legal Secretary II.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage attorney calendars, including court appearances, deadlines, and client meetings; prepare, format, and file pleadings and legal documents with the court (electronic and paper filing); maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic); answer phones and respond to client inquiries, relay messages to attorneys; schedule appointments, jail visits, and court hearings; prepare routine correspondence and legal forms; enter and update case information in case management systems; coordinate document preparation for hearings and trials; handle incoming and outgoing mail, scanning, and records management; maintain confidentiality of all clients and case information.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred; two (2) years of administrative experience, preferably in a legal or government setting; proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic filing systems; strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage high-volume workload with accuracy.
Must be able to pass criminal background check. Position is available for Veteran’s Preference. Scotts Bluff County is an EEO/AA employer.
