NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASES

Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. § 77-1633, that a representative of the following political subdivisions will meet on the 22nd day of September 2025 at 6:05 p.m., at Gering Civic Center, 1050 M Street, Gering, Nebraska for the purpose of conducting a joint public hearing to obtain public input on property tax increases proposed by the subdivisions:
Scotts Bluff County, 308-436-6726, property tax requested: $15,293,952
Gering Public Schools, 308-436-3125, property tax requested: $12,070,245.62
**Banner County Public Schools, 308-436-5262, property tax requested: $3,141,000
September 23, 2025, 6:00 PM, Banner County Courthouse, 204 State Street, Harrisburg
**Bayard Public Schools, 308-586-1325, property tax requested: $4,355,859
September 15, 2025, 6:00 PM, Bayard High School Library, 726 4th Avenue, Bayard
Said meeting is open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact the Scotts Bluff County Clerk at 308-436-6600 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if accommodation is required.
There is no item on the agenda for this joint public meeting other than discussion of each political subdivision’s intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the “allowable growth percentage” defined in §77-1633. The political subdivisions shall make their presentations in the order listed above.
