Scotts Bluff County - Veterans Service

The Scotts Bluff County Veterans Service Office assists veterans and their dependents in obtaining information about any V.A. benefits that they may be interested in and also assist them in working up the applications and obtaining the needed supporting documents. The Scotts Bluff County Veterans Service Office also assist veterans in making application to have their eligibility determine for treatment in a VA Medical Center.

Disabled American Veterans vans provides transportation for veterans to both the Hot Springs, SD VA Medical Center and the Cheyenne, WY VA Medical Center on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The Scotts Bluff County Veterans Service Office sets up the DAV Van volunteer drivers and also the contact point for veterans who needs rides to the Hot Springs, SD VA Medical Center and the Cheyenne, WY VA Medical Center.

The Hot Springs, SD VA Medical Center has an out patient clinic in Scottsbluff, NE at 601 South 5th Ave. It is open five days a week from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00pm to 4:00 pm, phone number 308-225-9330. To be seen at the Out Patient Clinic at Scottsbluff, NE a veteran has to be enrolled at the Hot Springs, SD VA Medical Center.

 

Scotts Bluff County Veterans Service Committee

Nominations are being accepted for a veteran interested in serving on the Scotts Bluff County Veterans Service Committee to represent the Scottsbluff, NE area. The nomination can be made at the Scotts Bluff County Veterans Service Office at the Administrative Building in Gering, NE and will close at 4:30 pm on June 30, 2022.

Scotts Bluff County Veterans Memorials

A memorial honoring all veterans who have served on active military duty from all the different military services was erected in 1989. The memorial also includes three flag poles one for the American Flag, State Flag, and the POW Flag.

An Afghanistan-Iraq Memorial to honor active duty service member who lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq was erected in 2009 and six names are on it from a eleven county area in Western Nebraska.

Both memorials are located on the west side of the Scotts Bluff County Administrative Building in Gering, NE.
